Manufacturing Specifications For Wedge-type Tension Clamps
The dead end clamp overhead line connector is designed and manufactured based on the "wedge" principle. Under the splitting force of the wedge, the steel strands are locked inside the connector. During installation, the steel strands are bent into the same shape as the wedge and installed inside the connector. When the steel strands are subjected to tension, the wedge and the steel strands simultaneously slide along the inner wall of the connector towards the outlet, becoming tighter and tighter, gradually reaching a locked state. The wedge-shaped structure provides a gripping force proportional to the tension on the conductor, exhibiting self-tightening characteristics and requiring no maintenance during operation. The inner wedge is made of weather-resistant, reinforced engineering plastic, and can withstand an AC voltage of 45KV for 1 minute without breakdown or flashover.
1. The housing is made of anti-oxidative, high-strength aluminum alloy casting.
2. The wedge core is made of reinforced insulating plastic, with a power frequency withstand voltage of ≥18kV, and can withstand this voltage for 1 minute without breakdown.
3. No insulation stripping is required; it is compatible with insulated aluminum core wires.
4. No power loss; an energy-saving certified product.
5. Wedge-shaped structure, simple and reliable installation.
The dead clamp connector is suitable for fixing and tensioning overhead insulated conductors at the terminal or at both ends of the tension section of overhead insulated conductors rated at 10KV and below, securing them to tension insulators. It is also suitable for steel-cored aluminum stranded insulated overhead cables.
