Before conducting the simulated strand break repair test, in order to verify the RTS of the original OPGW optical cable, the original OPGW1 and OPGW2 optical cables were subjected to tensile strength tests, respectively, proving that the tensile strength of OPGW1 and OPGW2 optical cables both met the above RTS requirements. Then the simulated strand break repair tensile strength test was conducted according to the following test process.
(1) The number of broken strands of the outer aluminum alloy monofilament of the simulated OPGW optical cable was 80%, and the tensile strength test was conducted using armour rod repair strips and optical tests were performed at the same time.
① Artificially cut off 80% of the aluminum alloy monofilaments on the outer layer of the OPGW1 optical cable, i.e. 10 strands, at the same place, and then wrap the test armour rod in transmission line repair strip P1 around the outer layer of the cable with the breakpoint as the center;
② Use two pairs of tension clamps J1 to fix the two ends of the OPGW1 optical cable at both ends of the tensile testing machine;
③ Mark the two ends of the armor rods conductor repair strip with a marker;
④ Ring all the optical fibers of the OPGW1 optical cable, and connect the optical fibers at both ends to the optical power instrument to test the optical attenuation change;
⑤ Start to stretch continuously until the OPGW1 optical cable is broken.
⑥ Artificially cut off 80% of the aluminum alloy monofilaments on the outer layer of the OPGW2 optical cable, i.e. 9 strands, at the same place, and then wrap the test pre-twisted wire repair strip P2 around the outer layer of the cable with the breakpoint as the center;
⑦ Repeat the above ②-⑤ steps.
⑧ Breaking force and optical test results
In the simulation test, the number of broken strands of the outer aluminum alloy monofilament of the OPGW optical cable is 80%. After repairing with a pre-twisted wire repair strip, the breaking force and optical test test results are carried out
