The steps for the suspension composite insulator shake test are as follows: (1) Clean the composite suspension insulator to be tested and place it on a dry object. (2) Place the megohmmeter steadily, shake the generator handle, and touch the two test leads to make the pointer reach the "0" position. (3) Connect the two test leads to the metal parts at both ends of the low-voltage circuit porcelain polymer suspension insulator to be tested, shake it evenly at a speed of 120 revolutions per minute, and read the indication. (4) For a running suspension type insulator, a value greater than 300MΩ is acceptable, and a new composite tension insulator must be greater than 500MΩ to be used.
