The solid gas-producing material can be made of electrical reflective white paperboard or organic glass. When the short-circuit current passes through the melt, the melt will melt and produce an arc. The high-temperature arc will rapidly decompose the solid gas-producing material to produce a large amount of high-pressure gas, so that the ionized gas will be ejected at both ends of the tube with the arc, emitting a loud sound and light, and extinguishing the arc and breaking the current when the AC current passes through zero. The insulating tube is usually installed on an insulating bracket to form a expulsion drop out fuse whole. Sometimes the upper end of the insulating tube is made movable, and it will be detached and fall after the current is broken. This type of ejector fuse is commonly known as fuse drop out. Generally, ht drop out fuse is suitable for outdoor occasions with voltages higher than 6 kilovolts.
