On-site Inspection Of The Fit Of The Parallel Groove Clamp Body

At the installation site, a detailed inspection of the fit between parallel groove clamp and the conductor is conducted. First, visually inspect parallel groove connector to ensure the outer casing is tightly closed, the two halves of the clamp are aligned, and there are no misalignments or gaps. Check that the conductor inside the clamp is fully embedded in the groove, naturally resting against the bottom of the groove. After removing the conductor sheath, the metal core should be in close contact with the inner wall of the groove. Any conductor misalignment, skewing, or exposed bare wire should be considered a defect.

Next, check the fasteners of aluminium pg clamp. All bolts, nuts, and spring washers should be intact. The bolt torque should meet the manufacturer's specified value, and multiple clamping points must be evenly stressed. Insufficient torque or uneven stress will lead to unstable contact between the conductor and the clamp, affecting the quality of the electrical connection.
