Engineering Application Of U-bolt Fixing Method In Suspension Clamps
In the design of power transmission line fittings, the U-bolt fixing system has always been a core component of messenger suspension clamp. This structure consists of a bracket, hull, pressure plate, and U-bolts. The conductor is securely fixed inside the clamp hull by the bolts tightening the pressure plate.
The hull is made of malleable cast iron, with stamped steel plates on both sides. These plates are connected to the hull via a shaft, and the rotation axis of the clamp coincides with the conductor axis, achieving flexible rotation. When the suspension clamp with i hook clamp is in operation, a certain angle of sway is allowed between the plates and the hull, but when the hull rotates to a specific angle, the U-bolts physically limit the sway angle against the bracket, typically controlling it to within 45 degrees.
