Copper Terminal Connection Method

Nowadays, copper terminals have gradually been used as accessories in the industrial automation production industry. Because copper terminals have a wide range of types and complete functions, they have incomparable advantages as wiring accessories. However, how to correctly apply copper terminals to the field of wire connection and signal transmission is a problem that needs to be considered. The most important thing is which connection method to choose when using copper terminals. Reasonable selection of connection methods can make the use of copper terminals more effective. Today I will introduce several connection methods of copper terminals.

Among them, the most common connection method of Cable Lugs is welding, among which tin soldering is the most common. Tin soldering is to connect the surface of the same terminal with the tin material to produce the continuity of the metal. Therefore, in the connection method of welding, the most important thing is the solderability of the copper terminal. If the copper terminal is excellent in solderability, the connection method of welding can be used, and the effect is very significant.

The second connection method of copper terminals is crimping. The so-called crimping is a technology that compresses and positions the copper terminals within the specified requirements and then connects them. The advantage of crimping is that the metal is dissolved and flowed through the technology to obtain better mechanical strength and electrical continuity. Crimping is generally used in places with relatively harsh environments, so that the connection can withstand the influence of some external harsh factors, especially in some places with relatively large currents. Crimping is designated as the best connection method. The reliability and stability of crimping is also higher than welding, but crimping has a fatal disadvantage. Crimping is a permanent connection method that can only be used once, so it is not as widely used as welding.

The third connection method of copper terminals is winding. Winding mainly uses a winding gun and a fixed winding machine to directly wind the wire on the contact winding column. Generally, the wire is wound, pressed into and fixed on the contact to form an absolute airtight seal. Of course, the connection method of winding is not as common as the other connection methods because it has more requirements. There are clear range regulations for the wire diameter and the extensibility of the conductor material. This leads to certain regulations for winding, which cannot be used on a large scale.

The fourth connection method of copper terminals is puncture connection. Puncture connection is a relatively advanced and high-end technology. It is not widely used at present. It is mainly suitable for the connection between some ribbon cables. The main operation method is to insert the contact spring of the copper terminal into the insulation layer, and then let the conductor of the cable clamp the copper terminal. This connection method can make the connection between the copper terminal and the cable more compact, and it is also very simple and convenient to operate. It is also very stable and reliable after operation. Why is it not widely popular? In fact, it is the same reason as winding. It is also limited when connecting. Although the puncture connection requires simpler tools, it must be used with cables of specified wire gauges.
