General purpose nylon can operate at stable temperatures up to 185 F in most applications. Nylon 6/6, on the other hand, is a rugged nylon grade that is best suited for stainless steel cable straps manufacturing and meets UL 94V-2 flammability. The material can operate well in temperatures from -40 F – 185 F.
Nylon 66 is a raw material composed of two monomers that each have six carbon atoms, along with adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine. Nylon 66 is a material that combines propylene, benzene, adipic acid, and HMD. These raw materials are often referred to as raw materials.
Another form, heat stabilized 6/6 can be used at elevated temperatures up to 250 F. Generally speaking, nylon will degrade in physical properties as well as wear and tear due to high temperatures. Nylon cables have a higher resistance to heat along with special heat stabilizers. These stabilized nylons are engineered to withstand continuous exposure to high temperatures ranging up to 185 F. These materials meet UL standards for electrical use.
UV stabilized 6/6 nylon works well under continuous and even long exposure. Such nylon cable ties are resistant to weathering, additional UV rays. This grade is usually produced after adding stabilizers to the nylon resin. UV stabilized nylon cable ties are usually only available in black.
