Application History And Advantages Of High Voltage Vacuum Circuit Breakers
Lv Pole Mounted Circuit Breakers Application History
The first country to apply vacuum switches in the high voltage field was the United Kingdom. The rated parameters of the British switches were 132kV13500MVA. Until the end of the 20th century, these switches were still operating normally. The economic efficiency of VCB was poor. After using 8 breakers in series per phase, the rated voltage of VCB reached 132kV. However, there are limitations in the design process of the electrostatic field of the vacuum circuit breaker, such as complex mechanisms and uneven voltage distribution on the breakers.
Advantages of high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers
In general, SF6 dielectric strength is high, and vacuum circuit breakers can withstand higher rated recovery voltage rise rates than SF6 circuit breakers. The contact stroke of vacuum switches is smaller than that of SF6 switches. In terms of moving mass, vacuum circuit breakers are lower than F6 switches. Low energy makes the mechanism loss small, so the life is longer.
