Why Does A Short Circuit Between The Neutral And Live Wires Cause A Smart Meter To Trip?

If there is a leakage current between the neutral and live wires, it may cause an abnormal increase in current, leading to circuit overload and tripping of the smart wifi energy meter circuit breaker. This is because in a normal circuit, the current between the neutral and live wires should be balanced. However, when there is a leakage current in the neutral wire, the current no longer flows along the normal path, resulting in an abnormal current flow. This current fluctuation or overload will trigger the overload protection mechanism of the smart energy meter circuit breaker, thereby cutting off the power supply and tripping the breaker.
