In the mechanical structure of insulation piercing connector, the shear head bolt is used as a device to control the torque of the connector. The shear head bolt has a preset breakage point; when the installation torque of piercing connector reaches the predetermined value, the bolt head will automatically break off. This defines the pressure relationship between the piercing jaws and the cable conductor, thus ensuring that the contact pressure of ipc connector is in a stable state.

The selection and positioning of the shear head bolt need to be coordinated with the overall structure of ipc electrical connectors to ensure a reasonable and properly calibrated torque transmission path. The design must consider the load specifications of the connector, the thickness of the cable insulation layer, and the material of the piercing jaws to ensure that the bolt breaks at the target depth, achieving the required contact condition.
