In indoor power distribution equipment, the high voltage standoff insulators is a key component supporting the conductor, and its electrical performance is directly related to the safe operation of the equipment. For switchgear with a rated voltage of 10kV, insulation coordination adheres to strict industry standards.

Technical parameters for 10kV environments

high voltage epoxy applies to 10 kV voltage levels. This is not just a simple voltage designation; it represents a complete set of technical systems that have been verified through type testing. According to supplier technical data, typical 10kV post insulators (such as the ZJ-10Q series) need to withstand a power frequency withstand voltage of 42kV (RMS) and a lightning impulse withstand voltage of 75kV (peak). This parameter ensures that the insulator maintains insulation reliability even when the system experiences switching overvoltages or lightning overvoltages.

At the material level, epoxy resin castings used in 10kV switchgear typically require a dielectric strength of no less than 18-22 kV/mm. This indicator determines whether the insulator can effectively block the electric field distribution within a confined space. In addition, the product's heat resistance rating must reach Class F (155℃) to ensure that the insulation material will not undergo thermal degradation due to localized temperature rise under load fluctuations.

Structural and Process Design Details

The performance of epoxy resin insulator is highly dependent on the molding process and structural design:

  • APG Molding Process: Currently, most mainstream 10kV high voltage epoxy resin is manufactured using the Automatic Pressure Gel (APG) process. This process effectively reduces internal air bubbles and voids, allowing the epoxy resin mixture to be fully impregnated under pressure, thereby improving the density and interfacial strength of the insulation.

  • Resistance to Dirt and Moisture: Epoxy resin materials themselves have excellent chemical corrosion resistance. In typical 10kV switchgear operating conditions, its design can withstand ambient temperatures up to +40℃ and relative humidity not exceeding 100%, requiring no special maintenance, only periodic cleaning of surface dust. Some application cases show that in highly corrosive environments such as coastal areas with high salt spray or chemical plants, the epoxy resin matrix exhibits more stable weather resistance compared to traditional materials.

  • Installation dimensions: For different switchgear models (such as XGN2, KYN28, etc.), the insulator's external dimensions and mounting hole spacing have corresponding standardized designs. For example, the common ZJ-10Q product has various specifications for its main body diameter and height, such as φ85×145mm and φ65×130mm, and the pre-embedded threaded holes at both ends facilitate direct connection to the busbar or cabinet.
