armor rod preformed (precipitated silk) refers to the processing of tussah silkworm cocoons into textile raw materials with special fiber structure and performance characteristics. preformed armour rod The production process mainly includes the steps of cocoon degumming, fiber stretching and pre-forming, fiber stretching and shaping, and fiber drying.

First, the cocoon degumming. After the cocoon is heated, the silkworm protein will be denatured and thermally coagulated. The cocoon is degummed in the liquid by soaking it in a weak alkaline solution and heating it. During the heating process, the cocoon is immersed in the liquid and the temperature rises slowly, so that the protein in close contact with the liquid is hydrated and soaked in the liquid. At this stage, the tensile properties of armor rods can be adjusted by controlling the temperature of the liquid and the soaking time.

Next is the fiber stretching and pre-forming. After the wet cocoon is drained by a drip machine, it is pre-stretched by a stretching machine. On the stretching machine, the cocoon will be stretched by the fiber gap and will also be closely arranged to form parallel fiber bundles. This process can improve the tensile properties and tensile strength of the fiber.
