Testing has shown that the contact resistance and line insulation resistance of the insulation piercing cable meet construction specifications, and the temperature rise at the connector during a loaded, energized trial run is lower than that of cables of the same diameter. Therefore, the use of the insulation piercing clamp cable has minimal impact on the mechanical and electrical properties of the trunk line.
