Insulator Resistance Test Pass Standard

It is recommended to use a 5000V megohmmeter to measure the dead end insulators insulation resistance of 35-220kV overhead transmission lines.

1. Insulation resistance qualification standard

(1) The insulation resistance of a newly installed dead end suspension insulators should be greater than or equal to 500MΩ.

(2) The insulation resistance of a polymer deadend insulator in operation should be greater than or equal to 300MΩ.

2. porcelain dead end insulators deterioration judgment principle

(1) suspension insulator insulation resistance less than 300MΩ and greater than 240MΩ can be judged as a low value of suspension composite insulator.

(2) composite suspension insulator insulation resistance less than 240MΩ can be judged as zero value polymer suspension insulator.

Composite insulation is generally not tested for insulation resistance using this method.
