Heat-shrink Pre-insulated Tubing: Material Properties And Working Principle

Heat-shrinkable material pre insulated sleeve is composed of cross-linked polyolefin and an inner hot-melt adhesive. This special material combination allows pre insulated junction sleeve to maintain its plastic shape at room temperature, transforming into a highly elastic state upon heating. insulated joint sleeve begins to shrink when the heating temperature reaches above 70°C, and finally completes its shape upon cooling.

The molecular structure of the material determines its shrinkage characteristics. During the production stage, manufacturers use irradiation cross-linking to create a three-dimensional network structure in the material, followed by heating to expand it. This process "memorizes" the material in its expanded state, and the shrinkage mechanism is triggered by heating only during user application.
