Factory-side Verification And National Metrology Institution Verification Of Smart Meters
The pre-shipment verification activities evaluate the metrological performance of smart energy meter according to the established technical specifications. The measurement results at this stage are usually compared with the deviation between internal standards and external authoritative standards. Basic metering data, response behavior, and internal sensing performance of the electricity meter are recorded using specialized equipment to create a 3 phase smart meter data archive for subsequent tracking and traceability.
As a mandatory verification measuring instrument, the three phase smart meter meter must undergo a legal metrological verification procedure before entering the market. Metrological institutions develop verification methods based on the national measurement standard system and use standard devices to verify a series of performance indicators of the prototype. This includes measuring and evaluating parameters such as basic metering error and electricity metering accuracy.
