Challenges In The Applicability Of Epoxy Resin Bushings In Uhv Systems
In the field of ultra-high voltage power transmission, the working environment faced by epoxy bushing is far more complex than that of conventional voltage levels. External factors such as climate change, dust accumulation, humidity fluctuations, and strong electric fields impose stringent requirements on the material properties of epoxy resin bushing. Under prolonged exposure to high-intensity electric fields, epoxy resin itself is prone to aging and charge accumulation on its surface, which alters the surface electric field distribution and affects insulation stability.
At high voltage levels, the electric field stress experienced by the epoxy resin cast bushing increases significantly. For UHV systems, this extreme electric field severely tests the internal electrical strength and surface corrosion resistance of epoxy resin materials. Epoxy composite materials struggle to maintain a uniform electric field distribution under high voltage conditions, potentially leading to premature partial discharge and insulation degradation.
